About Us

Lisa's Clover Hill Quilts opened November 2008 the day after we purchased 'Clover Hill Quilts' from a life-long Berlin Connecticut native.  Originally named after the owner's family business 'Clover Hill Dairy', our New England roots run deep.

Lisa Salonia (the owner, the buyer, and the heart of Lisa's Clover Hill Quilts) is a life-long native of Newington Connecticut.  In addition to managing the shop, Lisa teaches classes and private lessons when not working on her own creations.  An avid quilter for more than 25 years, Lisa is a past president of the Greater Hartford Quilt Guild and is currently a member of Newington School House Quilters.  She frequently appears as a guest speaker at area quilt chapters.

Jim Salonia (the financial manager, the silent partner, and the comic relief of Lisa's Clover Hill Quilts) is also from Newington.  Born in Hartford and having spent his entire career working downtown, he is enjoying his second career as 'retired shopkeeper'.

We moved into our new shop on October 1, 2010, located diagonally across the street from the original location.  The town of Berlin is the geographic center of Connecticut.  As it turns out, all roads lead to Lisa's Clover Hill Quilts.
(Editor's note:  Lisa originally wanted me to buy her a farm and help her raise alpackas for our retirement years.  Since she knew that I really didn't want to shovel sh*t for the rest of my days, she chose this shop as an alternative.  I'm glad she did.  Working here is like working in a candy store.  Everybody smiles all of the time.)
